Schëppe Siwen @ Fonnefeesten

From picturesque Luxembourg — a small country with a vibrant music scene that is too often underestimated — comes Schëppe Siwen, a ten-piece ensemble serving a unique cocktail in which traditional folk is blended with the energy of a punk band and elements of reggae, ska, and even hip-hop.

Since their founding in 2009, the band has used both traditional instruments such as trumpet, accordion, and fiddle, alongside guitars and drums. They deliberately sing in Lëtzebuergesch, a hybrid language influenced by many others, reflecting a community that is itself a mixture of cultures. The band places as much importance on social engagement as on musical craftsmanship, as shown by the many charitable causes they actively support.

Schëppe Siwen have released five albums to date, the most recent being Richtung Fräiheet, released in November 2024. 🎶
